What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Contact forms

When you send me a query through my website, the particulars you provide through the form, will be sent to me. Additionally, if you use a form on my website, your IP address will be recorded.

If your query was a legitimate one (i.e not spam or a scam), your provided data will only be used to help answer your query, and will not be shared with other parties, except where necessary to answer your query.

Your IP address will remain private, unless the query was spam, a scam, or a hacking attempt. In that event, your IP address, along with any other information you provided willingly, may be provided to your website host, ISP, and/or the relevant authorities.

Contact Form 7 with Recaptcha

I use the Contact Form7 plugin with Google reCAPTCHA spam prevention on our contact page. You can read their privacy policies here, and here respectively.

Cookies

If you visit my login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Google Analytics

This, like most websites, uses Google Analytics. Google Analytics does not tell me who you are, but it does create cookies that track your movements on our site. It records what area you are accessing the site from, how you entered the site (example from Google Search), what browser you used, what pages you visited on the site, and how long you stayed on said pages. It does not give me personally identifiable information. The information it does give me is simply used to streamline the website (I may analyse the data to see what and where I can optimize).

Sassy Social Sharing

I use Sassy Social Sharing on my blog articles. This enables you to share articles to various social platforms via icons on the page. This plugin is GDPR compliant. If you choose to use this service, and want to know more about Sassy’s privacy policy, you can read that here.

Who I share your data with

I have no intentions of sharing your data. It is conceivable that I may need to share your data with a third party in order to answer your query, but I won’t do so without your knowledge or consent.

If you send me spam, I will share as much of your data as possible with your ISP/web host, and the relevant authorities.

How long I retain your data

If you send me a query, this goes to my email, so will be retained indefinitely.

Please consider all data and media on this site as the intellectual property of Roxane Lapa. Do not reproduce data from this site without clearly indicating where said data came from, and linking back to the original page.

I do not give permission for my site contents, or any of my intellectual property, anywhere on the internet to be scraped or used for the purpose of any kind of AI learning or tools.
